Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää, miten kansainväliset opiskelijat kuvaavat sopeutumistaan Indonesiaan. Sopeutumista tarkastellaan erityisesti niiden ihmissuhteiden valossa, joita opiskelijat loivat Indonesiassa. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on lisäksi selvittää opiskelijoiden näkemyksiä siitä, miten kulttuuriset viestintätyylien erot sekä Englanti lingua franca -kielenä vaikuttivat ihmissuhteiden kehittymiseen. In a globalized world, numerous groups of people come into permanent contact with each other and experience psychosocial changes. These changes, produced during contact between culturally different groups, are called acculturation. In the present study, a systematic review was carried out of 18 journal articles that have researched this phenomenon over the last decade (2005-2015) in Spain. The main purpose of this study is to describe and to understand the intercultural couples’ relationships in Finland from the relational-dialectics perspective by Baxter and Montgomery (1996). Following the interpretive research tradition, in this qualitative study, data were collected from 18 heterosexual intercultural couples (36 persons), utilizing the multi-method approach. Sexual communication among intercultural couples with a Finnish partner

In this study the topic of sexual communication, satisfaction, and accommodation in intercultural relationships is examined. Intercultural couples are in need of more attention in scholarly research, especially on the topic of sexual communication. This study aims to bring the topic into clear view. One research question leads this study in asking: “what factors play a role in how intercultural couples discuss sex?” 18 participants, making up 9 couples, were interviewed separately about their sexual communication; following the interviews each couple completed a survey together on the same topic.
